Join us for our annual book sale on Friday, May 22 and Saturday May 23 from 10AM to 4PM. We are bringing back the BAG SALE this year! Pricing will be as follows:
FREE books in the Library Multipurpose Room
In the Book Barn:
$5 per regular grocery bag (paper or plastic), $10 for reusable bags.
Alaska, Series, and Special Finds as marked.
We are looking for volunteers to help us set up and run the sale–you can sign up here: https://signup.com/go/hjKRYyiAs we ramp up for Crab Fest, we are looking to pack our shelves with great finds! There are several different ways to donate books:
- Drop off at Cost Savers. Limit 1 box of books.
- Drop off at the book barn during a book sort. No limit. Upcoming drop off times:
- May 2, 10-12PM
- May 16, 10-12PM
Coordinate a drop off at the barn or a pick up with the KPLA board by emailing hello@kpla.us. Ideal for large donations.
We appreciate all donations! Please note that we rely on volunteers to help us sort, so we ask that you review your donation and avoid donating the following to reduce the workload:
- Anything that is moldy, burnt, water-damaged, or dirty
- Anything with excessive markings, pages missing, or damaged covers
- Textbooks or reference materials over five years old
- Readers Digest Condensed Books
- Magazines
- VHS tapes, CDs, and DVDs
Books in poor condition can be recycled at Thresholds. Thank you to Thresholds for providing a critical service to our island!
