Come support the Kodiak Public Library and join KPLA for the annual Crab Fest book sale! The book sale has been going on for many years, and this year there are some exciting additions. This year Sayward Fehrman, a children’s author, will be at the sale for part of Friday and Saturday to sell and sign her book, Once Upon a Summertime! Sayward will also be doing storytime at the library on Thursday, May 22 at 10AM–all ages welcome, so please come listen to her book and do an activity!
In an exciting twist (particularly for all those who have helped KPLA move boxes and boxes of books) this year books will be sold out of the new KPLA space in the historic barn next to the library as well as the Kodiak Public Library multipurpose room. The KPLA board and volunteers have been hard at work installing shelving and getting books on shelves in the barn to improve your browsing experience! Children’s books and DVDs will be sold out of the library multipurpose room to help with spacing.
There is a large selection of Alaska books this year–prices will be “as-marked”, and there still have several brand new books, some of which are signed by the author! These make great gifts for that person in your life who just can’t get enough of Kodiak or Alaska history and stories.
If you would like to donate books specifically for the sale, please drop off your donations to Cost Savers or email hello@kpla.us no later than Saturday, May 17th for the books to be included in the sale. Used book donations are accepted year-round at Cost Savers, or you can drop off books during our monthly book sorts that are listed in the KPLA calendar or on Facebook.
